This is the second book in the Brenda Stange series. I would recommend to the reader, that you read the series in order to reap the full benefits.

The author cleverly dropped seeds in the first book, "The Burning of her Sin", which are sown in Tangled and Dark. The characters are well established and story continues with a flurry where the first book ended. The writing style lends to an easy read. The author introduces some new colourful characters and adds depth to existing ones. Definite layered sub plots develop.

A thoroughly enjoyable read and a well worked creation between the natural and supernatural worlds. Carlotta and Angelique are two of my favourite ghosts.
